My 9yo son really wanted this for his birthday - I think half because of the remote control and colour changing, and half because of how cute it is. We had the similar IKEA nightlights about 10 years ago (they had no remote, just tap controls at the top) and I used them for nighttime feeds/changes etc. This one has much thinner plastic/rubber - when pressing into it, it completely changes the shape - and is significantly lighter.I find the charging cord a little bit difficult to remove from the bottom of the owl. As a result my son usually just leaves it plugged in all night long, which gives it a faint green glow from the light at the bottom that indicates that it's fully charged. He didn't really need a nightlight, so this glow is nice for overnight without being too bright.
